Ayurveda is a traditional system of natural healing that began in India thousands of years ago. It focuses on keeping the body, mind, and spirit in balance to maintain good health. Ayurveda uses natural methods like herbs, diet, massage, and lifestyle routines to prevent illness and promote overall well being. And it is also a sister science to yoga!
In our Ayurveda class offered at Lavender Escape Retreat Center, we will touch on the three doshas – the three basic energy forces that make up everyone and everything. They describe how your body works, how your mind functions, and why you have certain habits or tendencies.
Ayurveda views food not just as nourishment but as medicine, emphasizing balance, digestion, and harmony with mind and body. Together we will learn some basic philosophies of Ayurveda and make meals that balance the doshas and nourish your body.
